Blogging, blogging, blogging

How do you find the time to blog regularly? When you find the time, what do you write about?

These are two questions I’ve faced regularly since I started this blog. Finding the time to blog can, at times, be the easiest thing in the world. Login, write a post, hit “Publish”. No hassles. Other times, simply finding the time can be a task all on it’s own. Then, once you’ve found the time, what do you write about? I blog part time and, at times, have found that as much as I want to write a cool post, I have very little stamina left to even sit at my computer on an evening, let alone write a blog post.

Ideas, ideas, ideas. These ideas, they are very strange things. Sometimes they are few, and at other times they are many. When you feel like writing a blog post, there are no ideas. When you have no energy, there are too many ideas. My solution: write them down for later. It seems to help somewhat with managing the ideas and getting everything on track (similar to Prof. Dumbledore’s penceive in the Harry Potter books). A great idea should never be lost and always explored.

Scheduling blog posts; do you do this? If so, does it help? Is it a natural method of blogging? I find that I like to write about things I have experienced as I’ve experienced them, not a few days before, or publishing them only days later.

Quality over quantity; do you have to write a blog post every day? No, I don’t think so. Rather 10 awesome posts than 100 average ones.

Writing and reading have always been great loves of mine. To be able to pick up a book and get lost in a world that is, at times, completely fictional is something I wish never to lose. By the same token, creating a world that others can get lost in is a rare and precious ability, one that I wish to acquire as I write and read more, learning from my readings and from my writing journey.

Well, it seems like I’ve just written a post about writing a post. Go figure. What are your thoughts?

  1. I have a little book that I carry with me that I write ideas in or if I can I write the post in word and then finish/copy when I can!

I do schedule posts – especially if I have lots to say – I can write 3/4 posts and then schedule them rather than posting all on one day!

And posting each day – keeps me sane! My blog is about my life and everyday something blogworthy happens ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Thanks Laura. ๐Ÿ™‚

Yeah, I’m going to try a few things out and see what I find to be my blogging process. ๐Ÿ™‚

I think that because I don’t write about one set topic (like, for example, a technology blog) that aspect can make it both easier and more difficult, at times, to write posts.

      Thanks for the comment. ๐Ÿ™‚
